Around the Diamond looks at our favorite baseball articles and observations throughout the internet.  Here's what we're reading this week.

-Earlier this week, baseball legend Stan Musial received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama. Musial, 90, becomes the eighth former baseball icon to receive the distinguished award.

-Do you have what it takes to be Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon? DRaysBay provides readers the chance to determine their own destiny with a series of choices that effect the outcome of a particular game.

-Rob Neyer of SB Nation continues his series on the top MLB players of the decade with a look at the shortstops and the third basemen.

-Geoff Young (better known as @ducksnorts on Twitter), via ESPN.com's MLB Sweet Spot, examines a game from May 17, 1931 that may have been the worst pitching duel ever.

-Deadspin gives us the (apparently) true story of two lucky guys who were locked inside Camden Yards and lived out some of their baseball dreams.

-The University of California announced that it will not reinstate its baseball program next season, which was the motivation behind this awesome "Cal Baseball Reinstatement Rap" video.

-Harry Pavlidis of The Hardball Times reviews the career of Francisco Liriano as a member of the Minnesota Twins, which includes some PITCHf/x goodies.

-Speaking of PITCHf/x data, Mike Fast of Baseball Prospectus reviews data in hopes to explain why there are so many different variables with the way umpires are calling the strike zone.

-In a shocking revelation, Yahoo Sports reports that spending an extra $3 on a "large" domestic beer at Oakland Coliseum will actually get you LESS beer.
