The hottest free agent to never pitch a major league game finally landed this week, with Cuban defector LHP Aroldis Chapman inking a deal with the Cincinnati Reds for six years and $30.25 million.

The San Francisco Giants have reportedly agreed to terms with 1B Aubrey Huff on a one-year deal worth $3 million, pending a physical late Sunday night. The 33 year old is coming off a dismal 2009 campaign in which he split time between Baltimore and Detroit.

Taking a major piece from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the Texas Rangers signed DH Vladimir Guerrero to a one-year deal reportedly worth between $5 and $6 million.
Hot Stove: The Jack Cust Signing  (Sunday January 10th, 2010  - by Reggie Yinger)
The Oakland Athletics have signed DH Jack Cust to a one year deal worth $2.5 million. Cust, who was non-tendered by the Athletics earlier in the off-season has decided to stick it out in Oakland for another year for less than his 2009 salary of $2.8 million.

The Cubs bolstered their outfield this week by inking Marlon Byrd to a three-year $15 million contract. Byrd, 32, will play center field for the Cubbies in 2010

Early last week, the Atlanta Braves officially announced the signing of 3B Troy Glaus to a one-year deal worth $1.75 million and includes incentives that could earn the 33-year old an additional $2.25 million.

OF Matt Holliday broke his own news story this week, announcing on ESPN Radio that he had re-signed with the St. Louis Cardinals for 7 years and $120 million, with a performance-based option for an eighth year.
